  • Reform of the CFP at KSLA, Stockholm, Sweden

    The Royal Academy for Forestry and Agriculture in Sweden will host an event discussing the Common Fisheries Policy reform, with a particular focus on minimising bycatch and the Commission proposals for a discard ban.
     
    Speakers include Commissioner Damanaki, the Swedish agriculture Minister Eskil Erlandsson, and the chairs of the BS RAC and the NS RAC.
     
    The meeting will be conducted in Swedish, Norwegian and English, with no translation.

    The European Policy Centre is holding a policy dialogue, 'Fishy business - Time to reform EU fisheries policy?', on the Common Fisheries Policy reform together with The Pew Environment Group. Speakers will include Commissioner Damanaki, Markus Knigge (advisor to the Pew Environment Group), MEP Maria do Céu Patrão Neves, Guy Vernaeve of Europeche and German Jeub of the German Federal Ministry.

  • Slow Fish Fair

    The Slow Fish Fair on sustainable fish products (a Slow Food event) is taking place in Bremen. OCEAN2012 members EED and Fair Oceans as well as OCEAN2012 country co-ordinator for Germany Nina Wolf will present photo exhibitions, inform the public on fisheries policy and the CFP reform, participate in public political debates and in a meeting with European small scale fishermen from the Baltic and the North Sea.
